Obituary

Wayne E. Sheaffer, 82, of Lewistown, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday October 13, 2020 at his home.
Born October 12, 1938 in Ickesburg, he was the son of the late Maurice and Eva (Wright) Sheaffer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Sheaffer.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Olnick) Sheaffer, whom he married on December 6, 1968; Children, Adrienne McCalips, of Burnham, and Jennifer Sheaffer and husband Kirk Gomez, of Spring, TX; Siblings, Ronald Sheaffer and wife Kay, of Walnut Creek, CA, Karl Sheaffer and wife Lynn, of Duncannon, David Sheaffer, and wife Denise, of Lewistown; Grandchildren, Lauren Runk and husband Ethan, Devon McCalips, and Kael Gomez; and a Great-Grandson, Hayden Wayne Runk.
Wayne was enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Okinawa Japan.
He was employed at Standard Steel as a Manager of Production Control for over 30 years. He attended Calvary Bible Church, loved bowling, hunting and fishing, he even took several trips to Alaska to fish. He also loved animals and listening to music. He enjoyed watching Penn State Sports, and was a long-time Penn State Football season ticket holder.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, services will be private.
Arrangements are under the care of The King-Barr Funeral Home & Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wayne’s memory are respectfully encouraged to: Lewistown Hospice: The Bridge, 305 Fourth Street, Lewistown PA 17044, and special thanks to Jeff and Samantha for taking such great care of Wayne.
