Thelma A. Kurtz, 96, formerly of Beaver Springs, passed away on Saturday February 5, 2022 at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 2, 1925 in Beaver Springs, she was the daughter of the late C. Cleveland and Mable (Snook) Aumiller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Kurtz, Sr., whom passed away on March 31, 2016; 4 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Thelma is survived by her children, Albert Kurtz, Jr. and wife Julia, of York, Billi Yocum and husband James, of Lewistown, and Park Lash, of McClure; 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and numerous, great grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and step great-great grandchildren.
She was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church.
Earlier in life, she was employed at The American Viscose for 26 years, she then went on to work at Kinney Shoe Factory, and lastly at Beavertown Weaving Mill, retiring after 16 years of service. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, and watching wrestling and football.
A funeral service in loving memory of Thelma will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 12, 2022 at King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown with Rev. Richard Williams to officiate. There will be a viewing held at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday February 11, 2022.
Interment will take place in Maitland Cemetery.
