Tabitha Hope Alexander, 45, of Strodes Mills, passed away at 2:40 p.m. on Sunday March 13, 2022 after a long courageous battle with MAC Lung Disease Myasthenia Gravis.
She was born August 19, 1976 in Barksdale, Louisiana to Richard, Sr., and Diana (Miller) Putnam, of Lewistown who survive.
On April 27, 2002, she was married to Larry Alexander, Jr. at Strodes Mills Baptist Church by Rev. Jonathan God. Hope gave Larry two beautiful children, Jason and his fiancé, Heather Secrest, of Alexandria, and Samantha Alexander, at home. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Richard Putnam, Jr. and Stacy of Eldred, and Larry’s parents, Larry, Sr. and Carol Alexander who considered Hope their daughter.
Hope graduated in 1994 from Lewistown Area High School.
Always a hard worker, she started to work at 16 at McDonald’s and at Lewistown Pharmacy delivering medications. Through the years, she worked at Overhead Door and Kish Apartments. While attending school at The M-J Career and Technology Center for Licensed Practical Nursing, she worked at The Lewistown Hospital as a Personal Care Aide. In 2009, she graduated from the Vocational School and started work at The University of Orthopedics as an LPN. She retired on disability in 2011.
Throughout the years, she encouraged Jason and Samantha to try anything that might interest them. From bowling at 3 years of age to baseball, band, dance and many other adventures throughout their high school years, she was their cheerleader.
Together, Hope and Larry enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and riding through the mountains. Hope often caught more and bigger fish than Larry which was a proud accomplishment and source of amusement to her. She relished watching deer, squirrels and birds in her backyard. Also, she enjoyed her flowers.
Hope put her faith in The Lord Jesus and was certain that she would spend eternity with him.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to those who sent cards, flowers, a meal or financial assistance during Hope’s illness. Also, they are grateful for her Bayada Nurses, friends, and family members that provided competent care and training to the family during the time Hope was able to come home.
A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday March 17, 2022 at King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. The family requests that masks be worn by all in attendance.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
