Obituary

Susan Leigh Petrillo, 74, of Milroy, passed away on Thursday May 7, 2020 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born August 19, 1945 in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Bennie and Mary (Hanna) Petrillo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Petrillo, and a granddaughter, Lauren Petrillo.
Susan is survived by her son, Michael Petrillo and companion Amy Phillips, of Milroy; a sister, Amy Louen, and husband Dave, of CT, great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Billy McCann; nephews Lucas Petrillo and Roman Petrillo and their families.
Susan graduated from Peter Bent Brigham Hospital School of Nursing in Boston Massachusetts and was employed as a Registered Nurse at Lewistown Hospital for many years. She later retired from The Meadows Behavioral Health Treatment Facility.
Susan was a strong-willed, intelligent, Catholic by faith woman who wore her heart on her sleeve and gave it to you straight. She was an incredible cook who loved to create amazing meals for her family and those lucky enough to be invited to dinner. In earlier years she was a talented seamstress who loved making dresses for her granddaughter.
It’s not possible to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. Susan will be missed by all who knew her.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc. & Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Susan’s memory are respectfully encouraged to: The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 733 Third Avenue, NY, NY 10017, or Multiple Sclerosis Association of America 375 Kings Hwy N, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034

Sue was one of the most loving honest people I’ve ever met. She would let you know when you were wrong and always give credit when it was due. She would always see the potential in people, even when others lost hope in them. Me included. I could always count on a good conversation and a smile anytime we talked. She always made me feel like family, my other mom as she would say. Sue will be truly missed.
Our condolences to all who knew her.
Love, Kenny, Tammy, Morgan, Christian and Lily
