Robert (Bud) E. Klinger, 91, loving son and father went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 9,2019 after a long battle in Lewistown, PA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Kuhn Klinger and father, Hayward Klinger, sister Arlene Clare.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Snook (Phil) of Orlando, FL, a son Robert Klinger Jr, daughters Susan Klinger (Ron) of Lewistown, Debbie Benton (David) of Chattanooga, TN. Three grandchildren; Seth Klinger, Lewistown, Nicole Shvenke, Boca Raton, FL and David (Hannah) Benton, Delray Beach, FL. Four great grandchildren, Xander Shvenke, Bryce, Brooklyn and Nolan Benton.
He received an honorary diploma from Lewistown High School, served in the United States Marine Corp during World War ll and had an entrepreneurial spirit. He built the Laurel Motor Lodge in Potter Licker Flats in the late 1960’s and spent years buying and developing land.
He was known for his quick wit, enjoyed playing golf, looked forward to game night with his family and friends.
Special thanks to Ron, Carol King and Bonnie Hackett for their time, support and love over the years and to the UPMC Hospice Team who cared for him.
A private Memorial Service will be held by the family.
Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc., and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
