Robert C. Carter, 66, of Lewistown, passed away on Friday April 23, 2021 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born September 2, 1954 in Lewistown, he was the son of Ivan and Sarah (Beatty) Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Lawrence Carter, Sr.
Robert is survived by his siblings” Peggy and Linda Carter and brother, Lawrence “Larry” Carter and wife Patty, all of Lewistown. Also surviving are four nieces and one nephew and six great nieces and four great nephews.
Robert was employed as a bartender and The FAME Fire Company for many years.
He was a veteran honorably serving in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy.
He was an avid Penn State, Pittsburgh Pirates and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a life member of the Yeagertown Fire House, the former FAME Fire Co. and Brooklyn Fire Company where he was the current president. Robert started his service in fire in 1971 and also served as past lieutenant Fire Officer of the City Hook & Ladder. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his loving nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 27, 2021 at King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
A public graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 28, 2021 at Lind Memorial Cemetery with Pastor John Walters to officiate. There will be a time of fellowship and refreshment at The Brooklyn Fire Company, 218 S Main St, Lewistown immediately following the graveside service.
