Obituary

Mary E. (Miller) Reed, 93, formerly of Mattawana, caught a flight home on the wings of an angel to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday November 15, 2020 at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born October 16, 1927 in Oliver Township, she was the daughter of the late James and Ethel (Bubb) Allison. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Paul I. Miller, her second husband, John A. ‘Ab’ Reed.
Mary was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death by sisters, Edna Smith, Marian Heister, Bertha Kerr and an infant sister, Ruth Allison and brothers, Harry Allison, Merrill Allison and Carl Allison.
Mary is survived by her loving children: Lawni Foster and husband Bill, of Milroy, Judi Stonerook and husband Don, of Lewistown and Traci Gaisior and husband Max, of McVeytown; Seven Grandchildren and Eighteen Great-Grandchildren.
Mary was dearly loved by grandchildren, Starla Reesman and husband Chuck, Lori Kearns and husband Paul (Deceased), Troy Park and wife Kim, Sheli Bodtorf and husband Chris, Nathan Stonerook and wife Heidi, Cheyenne Stonerook and fiancé Abe Akinyemi and Daniel Gaisior and wife Claire, will be missed by great-grandchildren, Gage, Peyton and Caroline Reesman, Kelsey, Sawyer, Bhayle, Emersyne and Aubrey Kearns, Triston, Gavin, Kalen and Aleah Park, Kyle and wife Breanna, Ty and Colby Bodtorf, Easton and Zalee Stonerook and Zion Akinyemi.
And numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Mary was a devoted member of McVeytown United Methodist Church, where she served on the church board and was a member of The True Light Sunday School Class.
Earlier in life, she was employed at The American Viscose for 26 years. She was also employed at Goss Candy Store and finally retired from Norton’s Hardware Store.
She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events, taking care of her flowers, reading, doing crossword puzzles, traveling, crocheting, attending Stone Arch Players and community concerts, and most of all, taking care of her family
It needs to be mentioned, that when Mary said “thank you”, you could feel she meant it. She was very giving, if she had two apples, she would send you home with one of them. When we would leave, she ALWAYS added “you be careful now”. We will, Mom.
Per Mary’s request, there will be no services.
Arrangements are under the care of The King-Barr Funeral Home LLC & Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary’s memory are respectfully encouraged to: Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, or a charity of one’s choice.
Mary’s death was due to COVID-19.

Aunt Mary was a very loved, important lady in Rhonda and I’s lives. She was loving and lived by Faith. Until we meet again...
