Mary Margaret Lacombe, 90 of Milroy, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville surrounded by her loving family. She loved spending time with her family and she will be sorely missed.
She was born April 19, 1929 in Reedsville and was the daughter of the late D. Howard and Anna Houser of Reedsville.
Mary is survived by her husband of 68 years, Joseph Lacombe and her children, Joseph Lacombe (Sandy) of Massachusetts; Beth Reed (Mike) of Reedsville; Patricia Murphy (Randy) of State College and John Lacombe (Tammy) of Lititz and grandchildren, Holli Garver, Douglas Demskie, Joseph Lacombe, Ashley Bedford, Laura Lacombe, Hayley Miller, Andrew Lacombe, Dane Reed; great grandchildren, Seth Barger, Lily Demskie, Jewel Demskie, Drew Barger, Jasper Bedford and Jonathan Bedford.
She is also survived by her siblings, Sara Ann Gray, Jay Houser and David Houser.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Fredd and a great-grandson, Christopher Barger.
Mary graduated from Reedsville High School Class of 1947; received her RN from Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing, BA from Clarion University and MS from Penn State University.
She worked at Lewistown Hospital, Chester County Hospital, was an Industrial Nurse at Fisher Electronics and a school nurse for Mifflin County School District, retiring after 25 years of service.
She was active in her community. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Milroy, serving as treasurer, member of the church council and Sunday school teacher . She served on the planning committee for the Mifflin County Senior Games and the Mifflin County Library Board.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 5, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 42 South Main Street, Milroy with Pastor Janice Moody to officiate.
There will be a time of visitation with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Milroy.
Light refreshments will be provided at the church following the burial.
