Leroy C. “Leo” Wyland, 76, of Lewistown, passed away on Wednesday February 9, 2022 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 15, 1945 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Paul C. Wyland and Geraldine (Hart) Grassmyer.
Leo is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis (Boreman) Wyland, whom he married on September 18, 1963; children, Rhoda Pauly and husband Pat, of Lewistown, Troy Wyland and wife Jen, of Lewistown, and Angie Snyder and husband Rob, of Mifflintown; his sister, Peggie Ruble, of Lewistown; grandson, Josh Snyder, and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great- grandchildren.
He was employed at Marlette Homes as Materials Manager for 45 years, retiring in 2010.
He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his church, he was also a member of The Lewistown Moose Lodge #143, The Lewistown Elks Lodge #663, and The Lewistown City Hook & Ladder.
Leo was an avid Penn State Football fan. He also followed the Philadelphia Phillies, The Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, camping, and vacationing with family, and his close friends every year to Myrtle Beach.
A funeral service in loving memory of Leo will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday February 12, 2022 at King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown, with Pastor Steven Rynkewitz to officiate. There will be a viewing held at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until time of service.
All in attendance will be required to wear a mask.
Private interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
Leo’s family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and specialists for the exceptional care provided to their loved one in his final days.
