Leonard G. Bingaman, Jr., 84, of Lewistown, passed away at 11:38 p.m. on Sunday October 25, 2020 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born February 12, 1936 in McVeytown, he was the son of the late Leonard G. and Myrtle (Stewart) Bingaman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters: Geraldine Yocum, Madeline Marks, and Delores Adams.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet (Bay) Bingaman; Children, Rochelle M. Sorgnit and husband Jon, of Florida, Leonard G. Bingaman, III, and wife Vickie, of Virginia, Holly M. Laub, and husband Donald, Jr., of Belleville, Millie J. Sunderland and husband Mark, of Gettysburg, and Jodi L. Rothrock and husband Troy, of Lewistown, a sister, Lenora Adams, of Mattawana, 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.
Earlier in life, Leonard was employed at American Viscose Corp., He later retired from Lewistown Specialty Yarn, and owned Bing’s Exxon and Bing’s Sports Shop in McVeytown. In his free time, he loved to watch his beloved Chicago Cubs, and go hunting and fishing.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
