Kenneth R. Taylor, Sr., 75 of Lewistown, was accepted into the arms of Christ at his home, at 10:08 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 8, 1945 at his homestead in Mattawana, he was the son of the late Richard M. Taylor and Ellen B. (McMullen) Taylor.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Nancy A. (King) Taylor; his children, Sherri D. Cooney and husband Larry of Harrisburg; Brian R. Taylor and wife Becky of Lewistown; Kenneth R. Taylor, Jr. of Roberta, GA and Linda Palmieri and family of AZ; grandchildren, Ashley and husband Nicholas, Riley, Daulton, Clayton, Sage, John, Sam, Nick, Sophie and Ethan.
Ken was preceded in death by brothers Edwin J. Taylor (Cynthia) and Willard C. Byers (Joann).Brother Barry Taylor survives.
Ken attended Rothrock High School and graduated from National Meat Cutting School in Toledo, Ohio.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966, stationed in Korea and had served in the Vietnam Conflict.
He was employed as a meat cutter at Giant Foods, BI-LO, and was Owner/Operator of Taylor Meats on Belle Avenue, Lewistown and was also Owner/Operator of Taylor’s Deer Processing for many years.
Ken attended the Pine Glen Alliance Church where he was saved by grace on December 2006. He was a member of the All American Cruisers Car Club and was an avid Muscle Car Fanatic.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening, and most of all filling the dishwasher at family gatherings. Pap was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
There will be a time of visitation with the family Tuesday evening, June 1, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pine Glen Alliance Church 1058 SR 103 North, Lewistown, PA 17044.
A Memorial Service in loving memory of Ken will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2021 with a time of visitation at 1:00pm until the time of service also at the Pine Glen Alliance with Pastor Daniel Stegeman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ken’s memory can be made to the Pine Glen Alliance Church attn: Pavilion Fund, 1058 SR 103 North, Lewistown, PA 17044.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown, PA 17044.
