Obituary for Ivan M. McGary
Ivan M. McGary, 77, of Lewistown, passed away on Saturday August 26, 2023 at his home.
Born June 7, 1946 in Erhard, PA, he was the son of the late Henry and Geraldine (Mactavish) McGary. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Clara Barney, and brothers, Robert McGary and Thomas McGary.
Ivan is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Biss) McGary; children, Steven McGary and companion Amanda McGary, of Lewistown, Ivy Harding and companion David Ashmore, of Easton, Adam McGary and wife Susan, of Charlotte, NC, Lois Eyer and husband Robin, of Lewistown, Louise Buendia and husband Adrin, of Altoona, Sherry Jenkins and husband Tom, of Strodes Mills, Clara McCall and husband Daniel, of Apex, NC, and Carla Franek and companion Jim Swanson, of Clearfield; siblings, Irvin McGary, of Clearfield, Sherry Lewis, of Florida, and Dick “Mike” McGary, of New Jersey; 19 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Ivan was a Christian by faith. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish, and a devoted family man that adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown PA 17044.
