Obituary

Henry E. Wheeler, 84, of Lewistown, passed away on Monday May 25, 2020 at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born August 3, 1935 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Howard E. and Ruth V. (Moore) Wheeler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy R. (Gillam) Wheeler, whom passed away in 2003, a brother, Robert E. Wheeler, and a daughter-in-law, Linda Wheeler.
Henry is survived by his children, Jane Womeldorf and husband Keith, of Dubois, Ronald Wheeler, of Harrisburg, Betsy Harper and husband Richard, of Lewistown, and Lori Gohr and husband Mike, of California; Step-Children, Dennis Gillam and wife Sandee, of Montoursville, and Judy Gillam, of Richfield, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Doris Seitz, of Carlisle.
Henry was enlisted in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1962. After his service, he was employed at The American Viscose. He was a member of Spring Run Church of the Brethren. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan, a Penn State Fan and loved his family.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc. & Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Henry’s memory are respectfully encouraged to: Spring Run Church of the Brethren, PO Box 333 McVeytown PA 17051.

Henry was a good friend who was my biggest fan in the Lewistown area. He always remembered me on my birthday or on one of the holidays. Although I didn't see him much over the last several years I will miss him. R.I.P
