Charles V. “Charlie” Rothrock, of West Hills in Lewistown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday November 3, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born September 23, 1935 in Middleburg, he was the son of the late James E. and Stella (Wayman) Rothrock. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy Jo, a grandson, Shane C. Smeltz, and his siblings, Anna Shawver, Dorothy Bryner, James Rothrock, Elmer Rothrock, and David Rothrock.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Carol (Walls) Rothrock, they were married on October 13, 1956; his children, Douglas Rothrock and wife Leah, of Lewistown, Cheryl Smeltz and husband Rick, of Lewistown, Debra Peachey and husband Kent, of Carlisle, and Laurie Espigh and husband Tracy, of York; his grandchildren, Benjamin Rothrock and wife Madelyn, Zachary Rothrock and wife Tara, Meredith Godby and husband Kyle, Seth Smeltz and wife Emilie, Dakoda “Kody” Smeltz and wife Kristen, Thaddeus Peachey, Trevor Peachey and wife Abigail, Megan Peachey, Alicia Erikson and husband Scott, and Kayla Brown and husband Danny; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Emmett, Hadley, Brodie, Olivia, Charlotte, Jackson, Teddy, Audrey, Beckam, Hallie, Camden, Paisley, Oaklynn, and Brooks; and his brother, Sheldon Rothrock, of Enola.
Charlie was a devoted member of Lewistown Alliance Church, serving as a certified lay pastor, elder, and served on countless missions’ trips around the world.
He was a graduate of Chief Logan High School class of 1955. After graduation, he was employed at Lewistown Bottling/Pepsi Company for 35 years, where he served as plant manager for most of that time. Later, he was employed at Aflac as a licensed life insurance agent, and lastly was employed at Marlette Homes retiring in 2000.
He was a member of The Lewistown Lion’s Club, where he served as both president and secretary for multiple terms. He enjoyed playing city league baseball, and church league slow-pitch softball. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, and trout and salmon fishing. He was also a member of Bixler Gap Hunting Camp.
A funeral service in loving memory of Charlie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday November 7, 2022 at Lewistown Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave, Lewistown, PA 17044, with Pastors Neil Breneman and John Looney officiating. There will be a viewing held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
