Obituary

Charles M. Marker, 82, of Lewistown, entered into eternal rest with his Savior on Saturday May 23, 2020 at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born January 3, 1938 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Gertrude (Wagner) Marker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Kenneth L. Marker, Richard A. Marker, Leona Williams, Anna Mae Marker, and Darlene Light.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Marlene (Sipe) Marker, whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage with on May 7, 2020; Children, Debra Hostetler, and husband Dale, of Belleville, and Steven Marker and wife Lisa, of Reedsville; Grandchildren, Carli R. Donovan and husband Luke, Ryan D. Marker, Lucas D. Hostetler and wife Nicole, Emily N. Petersen and husband Ryan, and Shawn S. Marker and wife Kara; and Great-Grandchildren, Connor L. Donovan, Logan C. Donovan, Noah S. Petersen, and Jackson C. Marker.
Earlier in life, Charlie was employed at R.A. Marker Construction, and later owned and operated Marker’s Florist for 13 years. He later retired from Wal-Mart after 18 years of service.
He was a member of Maitland Church of The Brethren, and was a member of The Willing Workers Sunday School Class. He attended Lewistown Alliance Church. Charlie always enjoyed getting together with his family. He always had a positive outlook on life, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, He was their biggest fan.
A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 26, 2020 at The Lewistown Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave, Lewistown. A private service will take place at the church immediately following the viewing with Rev. Neil Brenneman officiating.
Private Interment will take place in Samuel’s Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc. & Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charlie’s memory are respectfully encouraged to: Lewistown Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave, Lewistown PA 17044, or Maitland Church of the Brethren, 315 Crossover Drive, Lewistown PA 17044.
