Charles S. Lowrey, Sr., 80, of Lewistown, passed away on Tuesday April 5, 2022 at Brookline Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Mifflintown.
Born May 29, 1941 in Juniata County, he was the son of the late Edward E. and Florence (Krebbs) Lowrey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Edward E. “Peanuts” Lowrey, Jr., Robert E. “Bob” Lowrey, Jackson C. Lowrey; sisters, Mada Graham, Marilyn Guyer, and one half-sister, Helen P. Ranck.
Charles is survived by his loving children, Charles S. Lowrey, Jr., of Rawlins, Wyoming, Heather Lowrey-Bradshaw, of Lewistown; granddaughter, Dianne Carnahan, 4 great-grandchildren, siblings, Nancy J. Swartz, of McAlisterville, Laurabelle D. Lowrey, of Mifflintown, Richard L. “Boots” Lowrey, of Fort Myers, Fla. and Jenny L. Lowrey, of Mifflintown, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Army.
He was employed most of his life as a concrete mason, retiring from Gearhart and Mayberry Concrete. Earlier in life he enjoyed hunting, loved to cook, and most of all, he enjoyed his family.
Private Interment will take place in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
