Barbara K. (Lynch) Aumiller, 72, of Reedsville, PA went home to be with her loving Lord after years of battling cancer on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital. She was born in Lewistown on August 30, 1947 to the late Charles and Sarah (Miller) Lynch.
Barbara is survived by her loving and faithful husband, Alfred “Ike” H. Aumiller, Jr. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this November.
Barbara was a 1965 graduate of Lewistown High School.
She is known by many people in the community for her endless work across the service industry: from spinning yarn in the beaming department at the American Viscose Plant, checking out groceries at Wise Market, babysitting countless neighborhood children, assisting staff at the Pennsylvania State University, lending her style expertise at Fashion Bug and Bon-Ton, to years of driving C.A.R.S. for the Area Agency on Aging and school buses for J&D’s.
Barbara will be remembered for her complete devotion to her family, friends, faith, and her Savior, Jesus. If she wasn’t chatting on the phone (with her intermittent signature cough), ordering from QVC, putting miles in on a walk, helping others, or enjoying her annual week-long beach vacation with her family, she could be found leaving a trail of tissues wherever she went while spending time with her son and granddaughters, who were affectionately known as “Meme’s Girls.”
She was an active member of the Lewistown Assembly of God church. As a true servant of the lord, if someone had a need, she was there to help. Barbara was constantly looking after others as a caretaker, bringing them meals, driving them to appointments or taking them to the grocery store.
She is survived by: son, Christian T. Aumiller, husband of Sarah, of Reedsville, PA, three granddaughters, Emma, Hannah and Mya, step-son, John A. Aumiller, husband of Megan, of Washington State, two step-grandsons, Dillon and Cody, sister Dottie Kenepp, wife of Richard, four brothers, Charles Lynch, husband of Peg, Larry Lynch, husband of Gayle, Timothy Lynch, husband of Janna, Daniel Lynch husband of Linda, and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara also enjoyed spending half a century as a member of the Aumiller family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: two sisters, Cynthia Long, wife to Michael, and Carol Bilger, wife to Lew.
Due to the current pandemic restrictions, Barbara’s celebration of life service will be a private event hosted at the Lewistown Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dennis Sproull officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Glen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and the ability to receive all of the family and friends whose lives were touched by Barbara, contributions can be made in her honor to the Lewistown Assembly of God Church: 160 Summit Dr., Lewistown, PA 17044 or to the GoFundMe Musser Adoption Fund to help her niece Abbie and husband Chet expand their loving family:
Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc. & Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
