Obituary

Alfred D. Kahley, 79, of Lewistown, passed away on Saturday February 22, 2020.
Born July 22, 1940 in Shindle, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Baker) Kahley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Grace (Kuhns) Kahley, and siblings, Larry E. Kahley, Helen Skipper, and Kathryn Cavanaugh.
Alfred is survived by his children, Ronald W. Fike, and wife Debra, of Millerstown, and Celia M. Singer and husband Rick of Beltsville, MD, a sister, Anna M. Tershana, of Rio Grande, NJ, Grandchildren, Travis, Trisha and Trever Fike, Samantha Pack, and Brent Singer, and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
He was enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Alfred was employed at Kaplan Trucking as a Truck Driver for 42 years retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church. He was also a member of The Yeagertown Fire Company, Brooklyn Hose Company and City Hook and Ladder Fire Company; VFW Posts 7011, and 90, The Masonic Blue Lodge 324; Shriners, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon and Harrisburg Consistory.
A funeral service in loving memory of Alfred will be held at noon on Friday February 28, 2020 at The Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown with Rev. William Kuhn to officiate. There will be a viewing held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alfred’s memory are respectfully encouraged to: Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3551 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA, 19140.
