Obituary for Peggy Ruth Moore (Banks)

Peggy Ruth Moore, 62, of Lewistown, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.

Born Oct. 4, 1954, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of Nancy (Fitzgerald) Banks, of Petersburg, and the late Donald Banks.

Peggy is survived by: her husband, Gary Moore, whom she married Nov. 24, 1974; a son, Eric Moore, of Lewistown; and a sister, Judy Frye, of Petersburg.

Peggy was a graduate of Juniata Valley High School Class of 1972 and a graduate of Juniata-Mifflin Vo- Tech School Nursing Program in 1974.

She was employed as a visiting nurse with Bayada Home Health Care in State College.

She was a member of the Lewistown Alliance Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and had assisted with Kidz Club at the church. Peggy went on a medical mission trip to Haiti.

Peggy was a pet lover and loved her Shih Tzu, Gibb; she rescued many cats and dogs.

A memorial service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at the Lewistown Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave., Lewistown, with Pastor Neil Breneman officiating.

Memorial contributions in Peggy’s memory can be made to Rescue Our Furry Friends (R.O.F.F.), 133 North Walnut St., Burnham, PA 17009.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Barr Funeral Home and Crematory, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
